Using A Body Pivot For More Power In Your Golf Swing

By: Mike Schlacter

Golf has gotten way too complicated. We should not need dozens of lessons, gimmicky training aids, and expensive clubs to enjoy and play good golf. Our goal should be to simplify our golf swing. I've decided to embark on a new golf swing method that I call the Pivot Golf Swing.

I have found this to be one of the simplest and easiest ways to achieve a consistent swing loaded with power. What I mean by pivot is your body literally swinging the club.

With this "pivot" method, you will not feel the weak armsy feel you may have felt before. You will feel a powerful body thrust, where the arms go along for the ride and smash the ball with massive compression. I have spent the better part of 15 years taking lessons, and hitting thousands of golf balls, only to not see the improvement in my technique or ball striking to my utter disappointment.

I had finally had enough!

I started researching "other" golf swing methods and the one I really like was called The Golfing Machine. It is very technical, and scientific, but after spending hours reading about it, I broke it down into a body pivot, that creates massive lag, power and consistency in my golf swing.

Once you take the club back with an upper body pivot, you hold the angle in your right wrist for as long as you can, and aggressive rotate your body, starting from the ground up. You will feel like your hands are ahead of the ball at impact, which is perfect. Once I got this, it was unbelievable.

Your left arm stays in close to your chest through impact and early follow through, which keeps your swing connected and very consistent.

One of the greatest ball strikers of all time, used this method. Ben Hogan!

Hogan's Power source was his aggressive lower body pivot to start his downswing. That's all he thought about. Nothing else.

Simplify your golf swing with a "pivot-driven" swing, and you will see more power and consistency than you've seen in years.
