SKLZ Gyro Swing Training Aid

By: Mike Schlacter

Trying to get the right feel for a proper golf swing is nearly impossible for the high handicapper. Even for single digits it's hard for a golf teacher to explain feel to a golfer. The Gyro Swing Trainer is a training aid that teaches you an on plane golf swing with proper release at the right time through impact.

I was so intrigued with this training aid I wanted to research some reviews of it from golfers of all abilities to see if in fact it was an effective aid to help improve the plane and release in the golf swing.

From what I've read in golf forums is that it is quite expensive, nearly $200, and the battery life is not so good. But other golfers have said it's amazing through the impact area, where you can really learn a proper release for maximum clubhead speed and distance.

I am not a huge fan of training aids, as most of them are over-priced junk, but this one seems to have some merit. But at that price tag it better have right?

The median price for a golf swing trainer is about $100, so this one is twice that much.

Your best bet is to go to your local golf store and try it out. Most stores have a 30 day return policy, so nothing ventured, nothing gained.
