Mens Callaway Fairway Woods

By: Walter David

Mens Callaway Fairway Woods such as Big Bertha seem to have a cult following. Golfers that have used them in the past swear by them and are always on the lookout for used or new Big Bertha fairway woods.

Golfers seem to love the Big Bertha II Fairway Wood. Its compact titanium clubface sets up square at address inducing more confidence. An easy swing and sweep gets the ball airborne quickly and with good distance. This club is very forgiving allowing you to hit the ball solidly off tight lies. It is also powerful - straight and long.

The Big Bertha Diablo Fairway Woods are large-headed and streamlined for distance and accuracy. Due to the unique shape of the clubhead, weights have been strategically placed for optimal CG (center of gravity) location either for the draw or neutral options. Golfers can select either the draw or neutral clubhead according to the shape of their shot. They removed the weight from the hosel and repositioned it in the perimeter of the clubhead to add stability. It also helps golfers release the club at impact with full power, especially when swinging aggressively.

The Callaway X Fairway Wood is one of the more popular Callaway woods. An X-sole design allows the club head to rest on two distinct points of the sole for more stability. A large clubhead means a bigger sweetspot making it appealing to a wide range of players. The face sets up nicely at address and the sound at impact is great. Amazingly accurate with effortless power. The Callaway X Fairway wood produces clean, solid hits off the fairway and cuts through the rough effortlessly. The ball will travel on a mid to high trajectory.

The Callaway FT Fairway Wood has an excellent look with power to boot. The ball flies high off of any lie. You can customize your club with the optifit weighting system - Draw for reducing a fade; fade to reduce a hook; neutral for maximum workability. So, for example, if you leave the club head open at impact and hit a slice the draw weighting system will correct that giving you longer and straighter hits. It has a stainless steel face and body. A lower leading edge makes the sweetspot accessible for more skill levels. Miss-hits will go nearly as far as solid hits.

Another great fairway wood is the Callaway FT-I Squareway. This club incorporates Fusion Technology - stainless steel face, sole, and body with a carbon composite crown that allows weights to be placed at the extreme corners of the club. This allows the club to be very forgiving on off-center hits and very resistant to twisting. The result is a long and straight shot.
