Keep Your Game In Shape With A Golf Exercise Video

By: Trent

If you are starting to worry about your ability to finish a round or to get to that par five green in regulation, you can keep your game in shape with a golf exercise video. It’s not just technique and equipment that keeps your handicap where it is but your exercise to play the game.

OK you can run the Boston Marathon and bench press the wife and kids, but how about your rotational strength, and the continuing flexibility of your joints? Are they still up to the demands made on them by that very unnatural rotational and twisting motion that is your golf swing? Probably not, or you wouldn’t be getting worried about it.

You Can use your Videos in your Bedroom or your Hotel Room

A lot of people don’t think that a golf video can help them since it is too impersonal. They feel that they need a personal trainer in front of them telling them exactly what the video would be telling them. Have you ever actually tried a golf instruction or exercise video? If you feel that it can’t help you then the answer will be no, since anybody who has used them once keep using them. Even PGA tour professionals use them in the privacy of their hotel rooms to keep in shape.

That’s right: hotel rooms. You don’t need to be in a gym or have a load of expensive equipment. You certainly need some equipment for some of the s, but no more than what you can carry around with you. A dumbbell or a medicine ball perhaps. Some elasticized straps, but not a lot more. In any case you can carry most of these routines out in your office or your own home without having to go to the gym. You can do them in your bedroom!

The Video Routines are Specific to Golf

The important aspect of a golf exercise video is that it's specific to golf. No lifting weights for hours on end, but more swinging s with weights in your hands, or making swinging motions against a resistance. Everything you do is connected with golf, and you need a video to show you how to do it properly. You could read it in a book, but how much better is it to see every being carried out in front of you, you doing it exactly the same way, and all the repetitions being carried out with you in real time. It can actually be great fun!

What you get is a full golf course. A golf player needs three types of exercise training: strength training, flexibility training and stamina training. The strength is needed to be able to swing the club with maximum power for maximum length, and do it for eighteen holes. If you are a pro you have to do that for eighteen holes every day for four days.

Flexibility is Critical for a Top Golfer

The flexibility is needed to get maximum extension of your arms so that your levers at working at maximum efficiency, and to keep your back and shoulders in trim so that they do not give up on you. You must be able to do that for eighteen holes, day after day, without injury, and that needs your joints to be kept at maximum flexibility. The stamina is required to enable you to get round that golf course, using your maximum strength and flexibility, without tiring.

This is especially important for professionals who need to have the endurance to do this for four days, but even if you are an ordinary player your stamina levels have to be relatively high.

Most golf DVDs will provide you with excellent strength and flexibility routines that will help you to keep your game on form, and many also provide s to improve your stamina, though there is no substitute for fast walking or running to achieve that.

That is invaluable tuition that would cost a fortune of you paid a personal trainer for it, yet when you keep your game in shape with golf exercise videos you have your own personal trainer showing you exactly how it should be done right there on the screen in front of you. What more do you want?
