Golf Swing Takeaway Tip

By: Mike T Pedersen

The golf swing takeaway tip I want to talk about is a simple one, but one that can literally transform your golf swing. The take away can make or break your golf swing. Do it wrong and you have NO CHANCE at hitting a solid ball. Get it right and the ball will JUMP of your clubface and be straight as an arrow.

Let's talk about what NOT to do!

Do NOT take the club away by breaking your wrists and getting too handsy. This will throw off your golf swing tempo and swing plane.

Do NOT pick the club up at the initial point of your takeaway. This will create a very steep swing that could cause you to chunk it, or hit it too high losing distance.

Do NOT jerk it away from the ball. This again will create a bad golf swing tempo.

Now let's talk about what TO DO!

I want you to think smooth way from the ball. This enhance a nice tempo and gradual build up to the top of your swing.

Do think of a "one-piece" takeaway. That means moving your shoulders, arms and hands (the triangle) all at the same time. This is a very connected take away.

Do keep the clubhead close to the ground during the first few initial inches from the ball. That way you know you are taking it away with your shoulders and not just with your hands.

Do keep your hands and wrists firm, and let the rotation of your shoulders and arms dictate what happens to your clubface.

The MOST important golf swing takeaway tip is the "one-piece" take away. Get this right, and you're on your way to making excellent ball contact.

Do you want to discover the secret to creating more power and consistency in your golf swing... AND eliminating ALL your swing faults?
