Golf Swing Over The Top...How Come?

By: Mike T Pedersen

Is your golf swing over the top? If so, do you know why you're doing it? I've heard stories of golfers taking lessons, hitting balls, and buying training aids and still can't overcome the over the top golf swing fault. This swing results in a weak slice, or a big pull. Either of these usually does not stay on the fairway, costing your strokes AND distance.

Why Is This Happening?

The over the top move is your upper body moving first on your downswing, instead of your lower body initiating it. The causes a golf swing sequence that is not correct, therefore you get to the ball in the wrong position to hit it solidly.

The solution is to be able to delay the upper body for a split second while the lower body shifts slightly and rotates.

My reasoning behind your difficulty goes deeper than the usual diagnosis. I strongly believe most golfers have poor flexibility and strength in their core area, so their brain says to the muscles they can't do it properly, which is a delay in the upper body and a strong start with the lower body.

The Answer!

Do you want to discover the secret to creating more power and consistency in your golf swing... AND eliminating ALL your swing faults?
