Golf Instruction Books - Do They Really Help

By: Curt Smith

Golfers are like dieters. Trying something new every week! Golf instruction books are no different than diet books. You go on them and then you go off them.

Golf doesn't have to be this difficult!

The golf swing should be made as simple as possible for most amatuer golfers. This makes it easy to repeat so your scores will consistently go down. Isn't that the objective? Lower scores, more fun?

All the top instructors have their own books and their own approaches to the golf swing. This adds only more confusion unless you stick with one teacher all the way (which even the tour players don't do).

Do these gurus really write and instruct for the "average golfer"? They work with the top players in the world, do you think they know what it's like to be a hacker? I'll bet not!

With the beauty of the internet, you can get books downloaded to your PC in a matter of minutes. There is a lot of garbage out there, but I have done my research and have found several that cater to the amatuer golfer.

These books are $37-$47 to download, but no driving to a bookstore, no ordering a book off Amazon and waiting for it! This is "instant gratification".
