Can A Golf Plane Training Tool Improve Your Ball Striking

By: Mike T Pedersen

If you want to be a good ball striker in golf, you have to have an on plane golf swing. Training to achieve this is critical to longer drives and improved consistency.

The biggest issue with an off plane golf swing is the "added compensations" needed just to hit the golf ball. Just like hitting a baseball or tennis ball, you have to come into the ball approximately the same position you were in when you started the swing.

When you address the golf ball, and put your club behind the ball, the angle of your shaft going up through your hands is your swing plane. To hit good golf shots you must get your clubshaft back on this plane, or you'll have to manipulate with your hands to get it there. When you manipulate, you add a "timing component" to your golf swing. With timing, you'll be able to hit it decent sometimes, when it is on, and you'll hit it not so good, when it's off.

One of the most effective ways to improve your swing plane is to use a golf plane training tool. When you do, you'll be able to hit balls while using it to get an instant feeling of it you did it right or not.

When you get your club on plane, it'll amaze you how solid you'll hit the golf ball. In my opinion, the majority of high handicap golfers do not have an on-plane golf swing, and they don't even know it. Then they wonder why they hit it so poorly.

When you can use a tool that forces you to keep your club on the correct swing plane, and hit balls, you'll ingrain the correct muscle memory to learn very quickly how it feels, so when you make an off-plane swing you'll know how to fix it.
